You should definitely check out the Blanton Museum of Art while you're here; it's right on the UT campus and consistently gets high marks. It's truly impressive, especially for an academic museum, boasting a really strong collection of Latin American art that you won't find replicated much elsewhere in the country. They also have a significant contemporary art collection, and the Ellsworth Kelly chapel, "Austin," is a standout, providing a serene, meditative experience that's a destination in itself. Weekends can get a little busy, but it rarely feels overwhelmingly crowded, and there's plenty of street parking nearby or a garage if you prefer. It's a fantastic spot for a quiet solo afternoon or a thoughtful date, offering a really enriching cultural experience without the typical Austin bustle.
