You absolutely have to check out Cassaro Winery in Ovilla, it's a true five-star experience. The moment you drive in, past the neatly tended rows of vines, you get this sense of rustic elegance. Their tasting room, with its warm wood and stone accents, always feels inviting, never stuffy. Weekends can get lively, so I'd suggest going on a weekday afternoon if you prefer a quieter sampling of their reds, especially their Texas High Plains Tempranillo – it's consistently excellent. They have a lovely shaded patio too, perfect for enjoying a glass with one of their artisanal cheese boards. It's fantastic for a date, or even a relaxed afternoon with friends, just remember parking can fill up fast on Saturdays.
