You know, if you're looking for a really solid coffee spot in Houston, Golden Roastery is where it's at. It's got this warm, inviting vibe, with exposed brick and a slight industrial-chic feel that still manages to be cozy. Definitely try their Ethiopian pour-over; they roast their beans in-house, and you can really taste the difference. It gets pretty lively around mid-morning, especially on weekends, so if you're trying to snag a comfortable armchair, aim for earlier. Parking can be a little tight right out front, but there's usually street parking a block or two over. It's a great place to meet a friend or just settle in with a book for a few hours.
