The Vibe
Alright, so if you're looking for true Austin barbecue, you've got to hit up La Barbecue. It's a no-frills, outdoor spot on the east side, just a big trailer with picnic tables under some shade. Expect to wait in line, especially on weekends, but that's part of the experience, and it moves pretty quick. Their beef rib is legendary, melt-in-your-mouth tender with a perfect bark, and the pulled pork is fantastic too. They open around 11 AM and often sell out of certain cuts by early afternoon, so going a bit before noon is wise. It's definitely on the pricier side for a casual meal, but the quality justifies it, and it's a quintessential Austin barbecue joint.
