It's not a huge, sprawling place, but it's incredibly charming, set in the actual 1886 Queen Anne cottage where William Sydney Porter, our very own O. Henry, lived. You'll get to see the rooms laid out much as they would have been during his time here, which really brings his early life to light before he became the famous writer. They have some of his original furnishings and personal effects, giving you a tangible connection to the man behind those clever short stories. It's a fantastic spot for history buffs, literature lovers, or anyone who appreciates a well-preserved piece of Austin's past, and it’s especially nice for a quiet afternoon solo visit or with a small group of friends. Parking is usually pretty easy on the street nearby, and it's rarely overly crowded, so you can really take your time exploring.
