You know, if you're into history or just seriously cool artifacts, you've got to check out The Samurai Collection in the Harwood District. It's not a huge museum, but it's incredibly curated, focusing solely on samurai armor, weaponry, and equestrian gear. You'll see these incredibly detailed full suits of armor, some even with battle scars, and it really gives you a sense of the artistry and ferocity of that era. It’s perfect for a solo afternoon or a quiet date; the atmosphere is very contemplative, allowing you to really soak in each piece. They don't have a gift shop, which I actually appreciate, as it keeps the focus entirely on the collection. Parking is usually pretty easy in the surrounding Harwood parking garages, and it’s rarely overwhelmingly crowded, making for a very pleasant, unhurried visit.
