You absolutely have to check out The Dogfather while you're in town. It's a casual, upscale hot dog joint on San Antonio’s north side, known for its gourmet twists on classic dogs and sausages, and it's a local favorite. The outdoor seating is a big draw, especially on a nice evening, with string lights and a lively, but not overwhelming, buzz. It's definitely on the pricier side for hot dogs, but the quality and unique combinations, like the San Antonio dog with cream cheese and jalapeños, make it worth it. Expect a bit of a wait during peak dinner hours on weekends, as it's a popular spot for families and groups, but the line moves fairly quickly. Parking can be a little tricky, so aim for the earlier side of dinner if you want to snag a good spot and beat some of the crowds.
