The Vibe
You absolutely have to visit The Sixth Floor Museum when you're in town. It's located in the old Texas School Book Depository building, right there at Dealey Plaza, and it’s a pretty intense experience, but so important. You’ll ascend to the sixth floor, obviously, and walk through the actual space from which Lee Harvey Oswald fired, now meticulously preserved with exhibits detailing President Kennedy’s life, the assassination, and its aftermath. The audio tour is excellent and provides a really comprehensive, almost somber, narrative, making you feel the weight of history in that very spot. It’s definitely a 5-star experience for anyone interested in American history or looking for a profound, reflective visit, though it does cost a bit to get in. I'd recommend going earlier in the day to avoid the largest crowds, as it can get quite busy.
